The Apple Library of Tomorrow program supports innovative research and demonstration projects in all types of libraries. ALOT's goal is to help libraries with great ideas and limited budgets take some risks and experiment with cutting-edge projects that they could not do without the grants. Donations consist of equipment and software manufactured by Apple Computer, Inc. and third party manufacturers and publishers.

A quarterly column on ALOT News is published in the Apple Library Users Group Newsletter. In addition, the Apple Library has published Apple Library of Tomorrow Projects 1990 to 1992, edited by Steve Cisler.
