Dayna Communications

From Higher Intellect Vintage Wiki

Dayna was founded in 1984 by Bill Sadlier, Lynn Alley, and Steve Alley. In October of that year, Lynn Alley had just finished reading a story in Byte magazine about a funny new computer called Macintosh. He proposed that they create a product which would make the Macintosh capable of running DOS software. One year later, Dayna introduced a product to do just that: MacCharlie (IBM had been using Charlie Chaplin's "Little Tramp" character to push its PC line). Today, Dayna is best known for its full line of Ethernet connectivity products and is the second largest Macintosh Ethernet adapter manufacturer in the world. So where did this big, prestigious company get its name? From Bill Sadlier's little girl, Dayna, who was born in 1984, just like the Mac.
