Willow Peripherals VGA-CTV
The VGA-CTV combines high quality video capture with a high-performance accelerated SVGA graphics controller. The product is available in both PCI and VLB versions.
The capture feature is supported on Windows NT, 95, 3.1 and DOS operating systems and is compatible with software that supports Microsoft Video For Windows, TWAIN and MCI.
VGA-CTV was designed with the OEM, Systems Integrator and Software Developer in mind. Unit costs are reduced by keeping the design simple and eliminating the bells and whistles that are found on products designed for the retail market. Developers seeking to reduce hardware costs are often better off integrating just the features that they require in software when creating their application. Finally an integrated VGA solution virtually eliminates compatibility problems.
The high performance of the capture feature is achieved by interfacing the incoming video through the IMA (Image Memory Access) port. The captured video then passes directly to display RAM (no separate capture RAM!) providing smooth, fully scaleable motion video display and high-quality, low-noise frame capture capability. The high-resolution truecolor and hicolor capabilities of the VGA-CTV provide for capture, display and manipulation of photo-realistic images for all video capture applications.
For badging applications that may require supplemental lighting the VGA-CTV is now compatible applications that need to be synced with flash/strobe lighting systems.
Features
Graphics Accelerator
- The VGA-CTV provides hardware support for functions such as BitBLT, line draw and hardware cursor. Two (2) Mbytes of display memory allows for highest resolution and color depth of the VGA display. Available outputs include up to 16.7 million colors at 800x600 resolution and 65,536 colors at 1024x768 resolution.
Live Video Window
- NTSC or PAL inputs can be Displayed as live motion video at any resolution up to 640x480 at the full 30 frames per second video rate.
Video Capture
- NTSC or PAL inputs can be Captured as live motion video or still frame capture at resolutions up to 640 X 480 with up to 16 million colors.
Programmable Trigger Output
- The VGA-CTV provides an optional software controllable switch closure output suitable for interface to flash/strobe lighting systems or high-speed shutter cameras.
