Apple Internet Mail Server, or AIMS, formerly known as MailShare, is an SMTP and POP server for the Mac OS from Apple Computer. AIMS also supports a password server, and includes NotifyMail support, both of which can be taken advantage of by Eudora, a Macintosh and Windows mail client. AIMS requires a Mac Plus or higher. AIMS also requires System 7.0 or later, and MacTCP 1.1.1 or later, although System 7.0.1 or later and MacTCP 2.0.4 or later are highly recommended.

The Apple Internet Mail Server (AIMS) allows Internet users to send and receive e-mail over the Internet from any personal computer that supports the Simple Mail Transport Protocol (SMTP) and Post Office Protocol version 3 (POP3), two mainstream standards for Internet e-mail.

The Apple Internet Mail Server version 1.1.1 is available to all customers who agree to the terms presented in the Read Me. AIMS is distributed under a no-fee license agreement.

AIMS version 1.1.1 provides basic POP/SMTP server functionality, supports 4 GB volumes and is PowerPC native.
