Founded in 1988 and eventually closed in 2003.

Connectix Corporation designs, manufactures, distributes and publishes award-winning computer utility and digital video computing products. Its mission is to provide innovative, easy-to-use products that deliver lasting and measurable performance value. The products are supported with the industry's best and most responsive customer service.

The company was started in 1988 by entrepreneurs who had previously worked together at Starstruck, an independent company that successfully launched the first privately financed payload booster rocket. It has since grown to a position of leadership in the personal computer market, with sales to more than a million users in 1996. Connectix is privately held and is wholly-owned by its management and employees. It has no long-term debt.

In 1995, Connectix reorganized into three distinct business units to better manage its growing product categories. The Hardware Group (comprised of the QuickCam Business Unit) continues to develop and enhance QuickCam, its flagship product and the world's best-selling digital camera. The Software Group (comprised of the Digital Video and Utilities Business Units) brings new and exciting desktop video products to market, including video communications, image enhancement and multimedia software titles, and continues to develop award-winning products which increase the level of productivity for personal computer users.
