Jump to search
Powered by a 16MHz Motorola 68030 processor.
General Information
Same form factor as the Macintosh IIci though there are some differences between these systems:
- Does not have the cache card option as found in the IIci
- Does not have onboard video and requires a NuBus video card
Codenames: Aurora, Cobra, Atlantic. Introduced in March 1989 and discontinued in March 1991. Originally shipped with system software 6.0.3.
CPU
The IIcx uses the Motorola 68030 processor clocked at 16MHz, giving it about the same level of performance as the Macintosh IIx.
Expansion
The IIcx offers three NuBus expansion slots, though one slot will need to be used for a video graphics card as the IIcx does not feature an on-board video port.
