Macintosh PowerBook 160
The PowerBook 160 was designed to be a mid-level laptop, released the same time as the Macintosh PowerBook 145 and Macintosh PowerBook 180. The 160 was introduced in October 1992 and discontinued in May 1994.
General Information
Introduced in October 1992, the 160 is distinctive in that it was the first PowerBook that could drive an external color monitor. The 160 could drive up to 8-bit color at 832x624 resolution. it cost $2,480 and was replaced in August 1993 by the Macintosh PowerBook 165.
Codename: Brooks. Originally shipped with System 7.1 and system enabler 111.
CPU
The PowerBook 160 is powered by a Motorola 68030 clocked at 25MHz and lacks a math co-processor.
Memory
Single memory expansion slot accepts modules up to 10MB. There is 4MB memory on the logic board, which makes 14MB the total RAM capacity of the 160.
