NCR, which originally stood for "National Cash Register", was a technology company founded in 1884 in Dayton, Ohio, and was bought out by Telecom company AT&T in 1991, only to break free with spinoff Lucent Technologies in 1997 and become it's own company again. Currently they have joined the leagues of once-computer-manufacturer companies acting as a software solutions and support like IBM.
