NuKernel was a microkernel developed at Apple Computer to be used with the Apple Copland operating system, though this project was cancelled in 1996.
According to http://www.uvm.edu/~sjc/raposody.html, Blue Box in Apple Rhapsody was originally done with Copland's NuKernel but replaced with Mach when the team responsible for it completed the work. Both Mach and NuKernel Blue Box demonstrations were apparently available at the 1997 Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC).
