Rendition Verite V1000 Series

  1. Use the latest miro v2.0 drivers.
  2. Edit CARD0020.INI file (\windows\miro\timing\CARD0020.INI)
  3. Find the resolution you want to modify (for example [1152*864*[email protected]])
  4. Add ´mclk=xxxxxx´ to this section. xxxxxx is the value which will determine the clock frequency
  5. You should start from 100000 and then go higher with small steps (like 100000->105000 etc). For example Windows 98 won't start with 140000 and is unstable at 135000.
  6. When the system is unstable (distortion, computer crashing etc), you should lower the value
  7. If the Windows 9x won't start at all etc, just enter the dos mode at boot (press F8 and then choose command prompt only) and edit CARD0020.INI and lower the value.

Here's an example:

[1152*864*[email protected]]
mclk=130000
pll=108000

Before: 1152x864x16 = 25 MP/s
After: 1152x864x16 = 38 MP/s

In the original CARD0020.INI there are no mclk settings but the update program which comes with the newest BIOS update adds mclk setting for some display modes.

Rendition Verite V2000 Series

If you own a Rendition Verite 2100 based card such as the Diamond Stealth II S220, then you have a card that's very overclockable:

You can either download Stealth II Overclocker, an excellent utility developed by Rich Ferguson. You can O/C your card up to 50, 60 MHz, return to default (40 MHz) or adjust the speed freely. If you have updated the bios up to version 1.36, get the new version optimized for this new Bios.

Or follow the information below:

            "I own a stealth2 and overclocked it from 40mhz to 72mhz!!!! I currently
            leave it at 59mhz with no problems. I wouldn't recommend overclocking
            anything over 53mhz without a fan/heatsink though.

            my GLQuake numbers went from 21 to 29.7@640x480 and plays awesome!!!!

            Just make a file named "VERITE.INI" and copy it to you WINDOWS directory.
            It should have the following content:

            [display]
            m=33
            n=2
            sclkp=4
            mclkp=2

            Save it as "verite.ini" in your c:\windows\ directory.

            Restart your computer, done

            Memory speed = 14.318*m/(n*MClkP) MHz
            Engine speed = 14.318*m/(n*SClkP) MHz

            Mem/Eng(MHz) m n SClkP MClkP

            Default 14 1 5 2
            90/45 25 2 4 2
            93/46.5 26 2 4 2
            96/48 27 2 4 2
            100/50 28 2 4 2
            104/52 29 2 4 2
            107/53.5 30 2 4 2
            111/55.5 31 2 4 2
            114/57 32 2 4 2
            118/59 33 2 4 2(My highest OC)
            122/61 34 2 4 2
            125/62.5 35 2 4 2

Cooling of these cards is an important topic. Be sure that if you want to overclock your V2X00 to the maximum, you must put a heatsink. If you use a fan and a heatsink, the results will be better.
