Wavefunction, Inc., was founded in 1991 by world-renowned computational chemist and UC Irvine Professor Warren Hehre. Wavefunction's earliest product, Spartan for UNIX workstations, was the first to combine powerful computational tools with an easy-to-use graphical user interface. Building on this combination, the company has grown to be among the most successful and profitable in the chemistry software industry, with annual growth rates averaging more than 30%. Wavefunction continues to grow and expand, adding new products, new platforms, and new approaches for the solution of complex problems in chemistry research, education and demonstration.

MacSpartan for the Power Macintosh!

The newest addition to the Wavefunction (single parent) family of products is MacSpartan. MacSpartan takes advantage of the PowerPC chip's speed to produce one of the first truly powerful and affordable computational chemistry products for the desktop. MacSpartan is a fully integrated molecular modeling program with simple builders, easy computational set-up, and brilliant graphical display of all results.
