Founded in 1983 and merged with MCI in 1997 to become MCI WorldCom.

In February 1998, WorldCom acquired CompuServe from its parent company H&R Block. WorldCom then retained the CompuServe Network Services Division, sold its online service to America Online, and received AOL's network division, ANS.

In 2000, MCI WorldCom changed names yet again back to just WorldCom.

WorldCom provides a complete range of domestic and international voice, data and video services for business and residential use. We are committed to providing the features necessary to help you understand and effectively manage your budget with competitive rates, whether it's a family of five or a Fortune 500 company. That is why we are the fourth largest long distance carrier in the country.

The Internet is a new reality that is profoundly changing the way businesses operate. Momentum is building as millions of innovators, entrepreneurs, researchers and marketers rush to gain access.
